Sin—Yesterday evening, between 5.50 and 630 pin, motoring from Amherst Avenue to, Bubbling Well Road I noticed no less than five detachments of Special Municipality police, rifles on shoulder, marching on Municipal roads. These detachments varied in strength between five and forty men, Today at about 12.20 pin. between Edinburgh Road and the perimeter, I noticed two detachments of these police on, Great Western Road, one of which detachments was at least twenty strong..On Wednesday night on Great Western Road in the Hungjao area, unknown persons cut down two telephone poles and 400 feet of cable, of which 300 feet seems to have been removed obvious ft must have taken quite a time to do this.
May I suggest the Tao Tao, police, instead of parading inside the perimeter, would be better employed if they were looking after robbers in the Hungjao area. I am not, of course, suggesting they should make use of the Municipal roads. Is it possible, horrid thought, that they are afraid to go out in the dark?
