Cheery Seaside Trippers

This was a very full train, mostly cheery day trippers from the seaside, but I managed to find a reasonably empty carriage in about the fifth coach down, Well this train stopped at every twopenny ha'penny station to Maidstone, and I was wondering we could get in by midnight at the rate we were going.

Anyway I settled down to a snooze with my case as a pillow. We appeared to be fooling along at a fair rate for a change and I soon was ast asleep.

The next thing I knew that the train was grinding and crashing over some points and appeared to be pulling up very quickly and I suddenly shot on the floor in a half asleep condition which seemed more like the end of a violent dream 1 got up, however, and had a look to see what was to do and, on getting Gown on to the line, saw what a lucky escape the passengers in the rear part of the train had had, You' probably seen pictures of the wreck age arid can judge for yourself wha a collision it must have been person I met was the g about in a d condition, and looking pretty how he and the fireman got out of it alive is to me an amaz thing, considering the state of thing up in front. He was taken in John's Ambulance men who were quickly on the scene.
