Outlook is Hopeful

New York, Dec. 26.

A hopeful long-range view of the business future was taken in the survey published to-day by the Guaranty Trust Company of New York, "It business is not subjected to additional legislative drawbacks, the taxes en undistributed profits and capital gains are revised and the international political situation does not become a more serious deterrent, there is reason to warrant the belief that business is capable of working cut a solution to its own pr the survey said.

While most observers believe that the present recession will last well into 1938, many believe there ig nothing to suggest that we ar entering a depression of the magnitude or duration of the last one."

The problems needing solution before the long-term prospects can be considered good were adoption of a long-range plan for relief expenditure with a view to cutting waste, and a definite plan for balancing the budget and reducing the public debt and the labour problem.—United Press.
