FRANCO-GERMAN AMITY AGAIN URGED

"Lo Journal" Points Out Real Good in Nazi Regime Paris, Dec. 27.

Franco-German rapprochement has come to the fore again with an exchange of Christmas goodwill messages and occupies. the attention of the French Press.

M. Pierre Dominique writing in the Radical Socialist paper, publique," states that France should refrain from entering into a military alliance with Soviet Russia, Every Frenchman, particularly an ex-service man, would honestly welcome a Franco-German rapprochement.

"Lo Journal" protests in two lengthy articles against the tendent tious press reports depicting material conditions in Germany in the darkest colours.

The paper writes that shortage of supplies undoubtedly exists in various domains in Germany and that the German authori ies have never attempted to conceal this fact. The Four Year Plan would otherwise have been superfluous The paper states, that German substitute materials are not of inferior quality but may be expected to find access ts foreign markets in two or three years. Except for butter and fats, which are rationed, life in Germany was no more difficult than in most countries.

The paper goes on to point out that there is now more money in Germany than was the case some years ago and that money also cir-culetes much more rapidly to-day. The situation of the working classes is, according to the paper, also much improved since the National Socialist party has accomplished a great deal for them, not only from the social but also from the purely human point of view.—Trans-Ocean.
