Alarmed by the heavy sentence passed on a chauffeur involved inn fatal accident, over 200 bus and hive car drivers decided to organize a Motor Accident Pievention Conimittee at a meeting held on Aug. 1. 'The committee is to be attached to the Shanghai Chauffeurs' Labour Union and 20" persons are serving on it, The chauffeur involved in the accident was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment recently by the First Special District Court on a charge of manslaughter.
