Dr. -Chvalkovsky Frankly Acknowledges New Facts Prague, Jan. 27.
Dr. Frantisek Chvalkovsky, Czechoslovakian Foreign Minister, in his first public utterance since his return from Berlin, said Czechoslovakia had no other choice in future than to model her policy in complete accord with the views of the German Reich.
Germany had now taken the lead im central and south-eastern Europe, a fact which he pointed out had come to be recognized by the Western Powers. He vigorously protested against the recent trends which of late had come to the fore within Czechoslovakia in the shape of "whispering propaganda." These efforts, he said, aimed at getting the Prague government to adopt a less friendly attitude towards Germany.
The truth of the matter, he said, was that geographically as historically Czechoslovakia was bound to work in close collaboration with Germany, especially as Germany was the best customer of Czechoslovakia.
This collaboration would have to be frank, upright and sincere. Any return fo the former policy and methods would bring disaster upon the Czechoslovak people.—Trans-Ocean.
