Colony's Defence Scheme Outlined Salisbury, Jan. 27. A call for volunteers who Were willing to serve beyond the border: of Southern Rhodesia, either im a Rhodesian battalion or as leaders with Imperial units, has been issued by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Tredgold.
The appeal was made in an announcement outlining the Colon defence scheme, drawn up after consultation with the Imperial authorities.
The call for volunteers, Mr. Tred-gold emphasized, should not cause unjustifiable alarm, for it was merely a very clear duty of the country.—Reuter.
