Eighty Persons Remain at Their Posts "Yangtze River"
In two raids on Wuhu, Chinese aircraft yesterday morning "successfully bombed the Yangtze River, a Japanese naval spokesman announced last night.
The first attack, made by three machines, was repulsed by Japanese pursuit aircraft that took to the air upon the appearance of the raiders. The Chinese machines hastily dump-fed their bombs into the iver and fled, he said.
In a subsequent attack, a long Chinese machine made its appearance. It was repulsed by anti-aircraft fire. One of the bombs dropped from this plane fell about 300 metres from a Japanese naval vessel anchored in the river.
