New York, 12

Both New York ice hockey teams triumphed in tonight's games in the National professional league. The Americans trounced the Detroit Red Wings, 1-0, at Madison Square Garden, and the Rangers upset the league-leading Boston Bruins, 3-2, at Boston.

Putting on a fine spurt in the final period the Montreal Canadiens almost fought the Toronto Maple Leafs to even terms, but the Leafs held on to an early lead and won, 4-3. The tussle was played at Montreal before 12,000 spectators—United Press.
