The Rest Win Closely from the Scots

The Rest beat the Scots in a very close ten rinks game, by 214 shots to 197, yesterday afternoon on the Shanghai Lawn Bowls Club greens. At the conclusion of the match, it was found that two rinks had qualified for the spoons to be given for the biggest margin, W. J. Monk for The Rest who beat J. W. M. Dickson, Scots, by 28-12, and W. H. Train, Scots, beating R. Baldwin, The Rest, by 32-16.

Later in the evening the players sat down to a very enjoyable cold collation, served in the club house.

This was followed by a smoking concert, a programme given by the following gentlemen largely oon-tributing to the gaiety of the evening Messrs. D. Macdonald A. Cheetham, F. G. Drakeford, W. J. Fulstow, W.
