Sokol Leaders Also Arrested

"On the pretext that they were mopping up rebels, the Gestapo squads also arrested several members of such Czech patriotic organizations as the Sokols, three of whose leaders Klinger, Blaha and Nemecek, were thrown' into the Buchenwalde camp. The opportunity was also taken to purge Czech political quarters of leaders who enjoy the confidence and love of the Czech population in the Protectorate.

Arrests since dawn yesterday were believed here to run into several thousands. The rampage of terror did not seem to have ended, either, for the Gestapo indicated today that further measures are to be taken "to avert all danger of disorder.

Among precautionary measures enforced in the Protectorate today was the posting of machine-guns at the entrances to all German buildings.—Havas.
