Rest in the Post Office

The revision of ideas about the British Post Office has been rapid in recent years. The days have gone when jokes could be made about red-tape and circumlocution, although it may ko doubted whether the goddesses who loftily keep the folk on the other side of the grille in a proper state of inferior submission have altered their dignified implacability. Nor can it be believed that post office pens are now marvels of ease and fluency. Yet, with the provision of a rest room where the public may dally for the purpose of learning the mysteries of St. Martins-lo-Grand anything may happen. If the attendance runs true to form the atmosphere will Lack the buoyancy of the cocktail bar. It is more than likely that austere duchesses will conduct the services and in ensuring an "unhurried and pleasant" deportment, will unbend with the frigid grace of their kind. But cynics will aver that it should not have required 2 Public Relations Officer to introduce an antidote to hustle there. Has that official ever tried to buy a postal order when the relevant goddess was doing a crossword puzzle?
