In gripping detail, the story has been written by W. J. Sprintall and circulated widely in ihe Blackwood series of "Tales from the Sea" under the title "The Epic of the s, Sunning, For several years after that famous piracy, Captain Hurst was an officer on board China coasting vessels. Then about two-and-a-half years ago, he joined the Yengtze Pilots' Association and since that time he has been guiding all sorts of vessels through the treacherous waters of the Yangtze River.
Over a period of six months recently, Captain Hurst has been acting infermitlently as a pilot for the British Admiralty, and recently both he and Captain Pote-Hunt took HMS. Cumberland, 10,000-ton flagship of the British China Fleet up to Nanking, the piloting being a sort of test for the younger pilot, All went well and later his application for the important post was accepted;
