British Labour Action

London, Jan. 25, A deputation from the National Council of Labour called on the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain at Downing Street to-day and laid before him the views of organized British labour upon the situation in the Far Bast as a result of the Sino-Japanese conflict.

During their stay of a quarter of an hour, the members of the deputation, which represented the Trade Union Congress, and the national executive committees of the Labour Party and the Parliamentary Labour Party, urged that the British Government should take the lead in calling for effective concerted action by the Powers especially concerned with the object of bringing the conflict to an end.

They referred to the prohibition of loans, the imposition of an embargo on imports from Japan, and the prohibition of exports of war materials to Japan.
