After opening slightly easier on lower Liverpool advices, the cotton market later rallied on trade and foreign buying and some short covering, closing near the day's best levels with prices 2 to 8 points above Saturday's final quotations.
The market for raw rubber eased in sympathy with the London market and the action of Wall Street, with consumer buying less in evidence. futures finishing 16 to 18 points off as compared with Saturday's close.
