Tuesday's Operations

"Direct hits on Chinese gun positions near Malucheng and Yang-|! chlachai" featured Tuesday's bombing operations by Japanese naval aircraft according to a naval spokesman yesterday morning.

The blowing up of the Chinese gun emplacements, according to the spokesman, "resulted in the explosion of much stored ammunition." He added that other Chinese artillery positions were "heavily damaged."

At Hungjao, Japanese planes bombed a Chinese troop concentration while at Nanziang the objective was a tank concentration. At Nanziang, the spokesman said, "the Japanese lost one plane." Warehouses at Sungkiang station in which were stored military supplies, the officer continued, "were destroyed" as well as many freight cars.

Chinese troop concentrations at Tsipaochen, the spokesman continued, drew the fire of Japanese naval aircraft, as did barracks and concentrations at Chiwango, on Woosung Creek. Freight cars at Kashan, he added, were also bombed.
