Tokyo, Dec. 29.
IHE existence of the Abe Cabinet is, to say the least, somewhat wobbly and it is problematical] whether Gen. Nobuyuki Abe will be able to patch up a truce with the political parties concerned, facing a stormy Diet in the meantime. Various quarters here predict that the Cabinet will resign before the Diet meets again, although it is held possible that an outstanding success in negotiations with the United States may as yet save it.
Well-informed circles here have even gone as far as to forecast a new Premier in the person of the former Navy Minister, Admiral Yonai.
Meanwhile, the statement which Gen, Abe made to the press yesterday is merely interpreted as an assertion that he intends to remain in power as long as possible, and he addressed the ultranationalist factions when he gave them to understand that he would not give in too much to the United States.
