Word of Honour Not Broken, Parole Never Given

SPECIAL ro THE e pu.

Dec. 28.

"It was announced by a German broadcasting station today that an officer of the Royal Air Force, who was interned in Luxembourg and had given his word of honour not to try to escape, eluded his guard and got away," says a communique by the Air Ministry today.

"The statement that this officer escaped is correct," the communique adds, "but the statement that he was on parole at the time of his escape is entirely untrue."—Reuter.
