$95,000,000 Instead of a Big Deficit in 1938
Washington, Jan. 1.
Mr. J. J. Polley, president of the Association of American Railways, estimated yesterday that American railways would have a net income of $95,000,000 for 1999 as compared with a net deficit of $123,471,074 in 1938 and same in 1937.
In his near-end report Mr. Polley called for the incoming Congress to establish a unified transportation policy placing all types of carriers on an equal footing.
