Moscow, Feb. 20.
The entire Land of Soviets greeted news of the brilliant consummation of work of the North Pole station "with feelings of boundless admiration, pride and joy. Workers, collective farmers, scientists, writers, artists, aviators—the entire country—greets the heroes.
The Tass correspondent on board the icebreaker Taimyr radioed: "The icefloe of the North Pole station has been left somewhere about 40 miles behind us. Manceuvring among the pack of ice fields, the Taimyr and Murman, still festively beflagged, are proceeding south-east to the shores of our Fatherland. Now Greenland shores can hardly be seen. Quite near sails the icebreaker Yormak with Dr. Otto Schmidt on board. We expect to meet them to-morrow."
