After a long rally which took more than two quarters to establish a safe lead, the "F" Battery succeeded to chalk up their third consecutive victory in the Major Cates Basketball League last night against the Headquarters Company of the Fourth Regiment by a score of 19-13.
The Battery began with five substitutes, and Headquarters lost no time in gaining a lead of four points to nothing in the first quarter. In the following canto the first five took the field but their success came after being 2-7 in the arrears. At recess the score was deadlocked at eight points. The third quarter saw the battery cagers shoot ahead with a lead which ended 15-11 upon termination of the third period. This ascendancy finally aided the winners to finish on top by 19-13.
Although beaten, the Headquarters gave a good showing. The victors were fortunate in the matter of registering points. Taylor, Bitto, and Ventress made several surprising shots which could hardly have been expected. Summary:—
