Tokyo, Nov. 12.
Fifty were injured and 300 persons were killed in yesterday's landslide on Komenashiyama mountain on the Nagano and Gumma prefectural border in Central Japan, according to official reports from the Governor of Nagano, The landslide, of unusual magnitude, overwhelmed the Kairuma copper mine and the dwellings of 1300 miners, Most victims were spithead workers and local inhabitants, including about 50 children, who were buried though 180 miners working in the pit were found unscathed.
The landslide is now believed to have been caused by a powder dump exploding.—Reuter.
