To the Editor of the "NomrH.CHINA Dalny News"
Sin—I am a humble citizen of this terrible city, and I would like, through the medium of your correspondence column to lodge my complaint.
I own a very nice radio, but alas, it is only a local one, and I have to be content with what the local stations offer. But to my great calamity I am in no way satisfied.
To begin with, there are only two foreign stations XQHB., and X.M.H.A, there are also two other stations but they come on, with foreign music, only for a short time in the evening; so that I have (and many other Shanghailanders) only two stations to listen to; and now I could almost sing over without error practically every piece they play. On Sunday the radio programmes are most distressing. This letter is not designed to dissuade prospective buyers of local radios, although it may appear so, but it is a protest.
Why could not any, or all of the local radio dealers come together and start another decent radio station for the benefit of those foreigners who have "long-wave" sets.
The former St. George's radio station wave length could be utilized.
Hoping that some day something will be done.
