Berlin, Feb. 24.
The state of business on the share 34 market to-day continued very much as heretofore throughout the week, the general tone being friendly, price movements not altogether uniform, most favourites however being a little higher and some few shares decidedly firmer. The turnover however remained but moderate. The market showed itself decidedly more 2 confident because of the undeniable [relaxation of tension in the foreign political situation and the consequent improvement on numerous foreign bourses. A very satisfactory report of the Commerz and Privat-bank issued to-day heightened the Ej confidence as did also the course EU taken by the proceedings at general meetings of Siemens and AEG. Minings were better, chemicals, dye trusts, electrics were markedly improved.
In fixed interest securities the 2i4 demand was very much less than for some time past chiefly because, owing to the approach of the end of month settlement, spare ¡money is not being invested. Only in old liquidations was the demand brisk. Reichs Old Liquidation Loan nevertheless proved to be an exception, declining % to 13275. Reichs loans were a shade firmer except the|2 Young loan which declined 3i to 1084.
Callmoney stood at 2% to 2% per cent.—Trans-Ocean.
