Sportsmen should not overlook the gymkhana this afternoon at the Columbia Riding School with the first event at three o'clock sharp.
The first event is a. prize-winners jumping competition, for ponies that have already won prizes in jumping competitions, followed by a similar event for ponies that have not yet had this honour. Next comes an event that is certain to be very popular with the crowd, This is the unsaddling race in which competitors gallop off, jump a hurdle; take off the saddle and gallop back bareback, taking a jump on the way. AIL this has to be done without dismounting.

Official recognition of the Winter Olympic Games at Sapporo, the Hokkaido, in 1940 as the world championship meeting of the Federation Internationable clu Ski was suggested to-day to the world body by two Japanese organizations.
These were the Organizing Committee of the Fifth Winter Olympics and the Japan Ski Federation. Domei, The Ulta Pulta Rece is a new one to most of us and consists of a determined effort to ride across the school slower than anyone else whilst the last event is a treat for contortionists, competitors having to pick up a hat from the floor whilst they are still mounted. The quickest man wins, An entrance fee of $2 for competitors covers all events and spectators pay a dollar only for the privilege of laughing the whole afternoon.
