General Belief

Neither Shelaeff nor his manager, Heinrich Seelig, are doing any talking about "new worlds to conquer," but the local boxing world believes they will sail of Hawaii or California unless a good challenger appears on the local scene.

Shelaeff seemed reluctant to discuss rumours of his impending departure for Hawaii for a bout with Kid Moro at Honolulu.

Despite his disinclination to talk on this subject, there were several boxing experts here who said that negotiations for such a bout were under way. Kid Moro is former Oriental welterweight champion and now considered one of Hawaii's best fighters:

Vicente, who calls himself the "Cebu Caveman" because of his ferocious ring manners, is determined to live down the comments which appeared after he had ducked a scheduled bout with Shelaeff in December. He simply- walked out a few days before the tussle was to have taken place and the promoters were forced to cancel the fight. The result was that he became persona non grata with fans and promoters. He, however, is out to change this and he may put up a fight against Shelaeff who is favoured to win on a knockout.
