Selling Talk

THE farmer had a splendid-looking cow, but she kicked so much that it took a very long time, and often it was nearly impossible, to milk her. So she was sent to market.

"Now," said the farmer to hand detailed to make the sale, "remember and tell the truth about her before selling her."

The man came back with a very good price. His master'was surprised and said. "Are you sure you told all about her?"

"Sure I did," answered the herdsman; "the man asked me whether she was a good milker. 'Sir,' says I, it's tired you'll be milking her!"

Snow in Shanghai We had spring some days ago, But it's winter now ogam, And we have proper snow Which does not end up in rain.

It is lying on the. street, It falls on your hats and backs, And it clusters round your feet Later to melt in your tracks.

And so agilely it hops Without warning on your noses, And it turns protruding tops Of the roofs to novel poses.

And it's coat is thick and vast, It seems it will never go, And still it is falling fast, But it's lovely, let it snow!
