Club Score First to Give Soldiers Some Worry

LOYALS BARELY BEAT GERMANS — CHAMPIONS NOT AT FULL

In an interesting hockey match in which there was nothing at stake the Second Battalion, the Loyal Regiment, barely defeated the German Hockey Club by the odd goal in five at the Race Course yesterday noon.

'The champions were not at full strength, four players being on the absent list. The non-appearance of Sgt. Cronin at the pivot was keenly felt for the soldiers' forwards lost a constant "feeder."

With the exception of Tiefenbacher, whose goal tending was missed, the Germans had their best team out. However, several outstanding shifts were noticed in the line-up. Wetzell was seen playing as centre-forward while Siemmsen took over Melchers' berth at right back.

LOYAL "A":—Hoҳe, Grant, Smith, Whiteing, Roades, Pagwe, McLamelle, hancock, Cole, Byrn, and Jackson.
