Story Told to Queen

London, Feb. 1.

Wounded seamen, victims of Nazi torpedoes, bombs, guns and mines, gave graphic, first-hand accounts of their experiences to Queen Elizabeth, who privately visited a sailors' home in East London yesterday, and chatted to injured men.

One sailor, who had been brought to the home earlier in the day, told the Queen that he and shipmates were in a small, open boat for many hours before being picked up.

He described how they had seen a 'U-béát come to the surface, and how the German commander had giveh them time to take to the boats before sinking the ship.—Reuter.
