Speaker Asks for Facts

"Conerete facts regarding how the Government is going to settle the China Affair are what the Japanese people in general want to learn from the Government. If the objective of the war are not made Clear before the people, the settle-m of the China Affair would mean nothing. Since the outbreak of the China affair, the Gov-ties be overcome in these circumstances. The people are acting according to the dictates of the Government because they believe that Government will bring the China Affair to a satisfactory conclusion It the Government betrays this confidence on the part of the nation, the results would be disastrous.

The Government should closely examine the attitudes taken by the preceding Cabinet since the outbreak of the China Affair toward the people and reply to my interpellation in a clear-cut manner.'—Havas.
