At least five persons were killed and some 60 others were injured today when a violent tornado swept the States of Texas and Louisiana.
Specially hard hit were the districts round Haynesville, Louisiana, and Athens and Richland, Texas. In Haynesville, four people were killed while twenty were injured and about 50 houses were destroyed. One person was killed and several were wounded in Athens, and several were injured in Richland, where some 40 houses were damaged. Texascana also suffered severely as 20 houses were destroyed and some 30 people injured,—Havas.
