These Dancing Contests Better Chance for Foreigners

To the Editor of the "Nortu-Cimya Dairy News"

Sır;—The management of the Paramount ballroom sponsors periodically dancing contests for amateurs. The couples that most ably display their art in tripping the light fantastic are supposed to be international, but actually nine of them out of ten are Chinese.

The competent judges, most of them Chinese, immutably award—which is natural enough—the winning prizes to Chinese couples, thus eliminating any chance that a foreign couple may have in winning the competition.

My idea in typing out these few lines is to suggest that contests be held separately. The management ought to allot certain days solely for Chinese couples and others exclusively for Foreign with an equal number of foreign and Chinese judges. Would it not be fairer to those foreign couples that intend participating but do not owing to the judges' too partial decision?
