Teruel, Jan. 9
While Nationalist batteries showered shells into Republican positions at Celebas, ten miles north of this city, Nationalist infantry futilely attacked the northern section of Teruel and sustained many losses, Republican Military authorities said to-day.
It was reported that Nationalist forces had redoubled their strength in the Conqud Mountain and Celetas sectors where, a Republican spokesman claimed, ihe lines remained practically unchanged.
Although Republicans claimed the completion of mopping-up movements against Nationalists who refused to abandon their strongholds inside the city, other sources indicated that scattered groups of Nationalists were still resisting in the old quarter.
Meanwhile, Republican communication lines were reported to be con. tinuing the flow of supplies and muni: tion to the front here without interruption.—United Press.
