To the Editor of the "Nortu-Cuina Dalny News"
Sm—I would appreciate it very much if some of your readers would kindly give me their advice how to treat a dog which has been suffering from bronchitis or catarrh for quite a long time, I have already spent a considerable amount of money for veterinaries' bills and can't afford to do so any longer. My dog, a strong and healthy looking wire-haired terrier, less than two years of age, recovered from a very. serious double pneumonia a few months ago. Since then he is occasionally suffering from distressed breathing, which sounds somewhat like asthma, and high fever in the evening with a very hot and dry nose. All medicines and compresses prescribed by the veterinary have not in the least improved his condition, Could it be a sign of heart worms?—which I myself do not believe, as the dog is much too young, lively and of good appetite.
Furthermore, I would like to know the most nourishing yet cheapest food for a dog. Is it true that there is no unpolished (more rich in vitamins) rice and oats or oatmeal obtainable in Shanghai?
