Washington, Apr. 11. Senator David I. Walsh of the Senate Naval Affairs Committee indicated today that the committee has amended the Naval Expansion Bill to include eleven additional auxiliary ships costing $60,000,000.
Mr. Claude A. Swanson, Secretary of the Navy, said the list included three minesweepers, one minelayer, four oiltankers, one survey ship, and two fleet tugs.

Japanese Admiral "Right"
Washington, Apr. Il.
Commenting today on the recent declaration of Rear-Admiral Kiyoshi Noda, Japanese Naval spokesman, against United States warships cnuising in "Japanese. waters" the "Washington Times" said that "for us to face the facts of life, we must admit that at the present time Japan does exercise naval hegemony over the Western Pacific. This involves conceding that the Philippines come within such a Japanese sphere of influence. That's just: what we should concede.
"The Filipinos want independence in all except the right to depend on us for their independence and tariff preferentials. We should give them absolute independence at the earliest possible date."—United Press.
