Qslo, Feb. 16.
According to the newspaper "Bergens Aftenblad," a U-boat blew up and sank, apparently as the result of action by a British destroyer, before she could fire a torpedo with which she intended to sink a Norwegian vessel.
The crew of the Norwegian ship, with 33 survivors of the Norwegian motor vessel Snestad, whom they had rescued, had already taken to the boats, but when the submarine sank, they returned aboard and brought their ship safely to Bergen.
The Snestad (4,114 tons), bound for America, was torpedoed on Sunday, after the crew had been warned to take to the boats. They were picked up the next day by another Norwegian vessel.—Reuter,
