New Measure to Relieve High Living Costs Tokyo, Feb. 16.
Granting by employers of family allowances to small wage earners was approved at a Cabinet meeting held today in the official residence of Admiral Mitsumasa Yonai, Premier.
This followed an explanation of the plan by Mr. Shigeru Yoshida, Minis-ler of Public Welfare. and Mr. Kakichi Takeuchi, President of the National Planning "Board.
After the Cabinet meeting Mr. Sotaro Ishiwata, Chief Cabinet Secretary, slated that this pian of granting special allowances or bonuses was an exception. measure for the relief of those who are finding it difficult to support their families.
The Governments approval of the plan did not mean sanctioning of increases in wages and salaries, lief said—Domei.
