Japanese air raids on Swatow in eastern Kwangtung on Thursday morning and the appearance of five Japanese warships off the port have caused great excitement in the city, according to reports reaching here "Troops commanded by Gen. Hua Chen-chung, garrison commander, were said to be engaged in building defence works and laying land mines at strategic places along the coast. Gen. Hua is a subordinate of Gen.
