Grand Fight

The hardest fought and most interesting match on yesterday's four was that between C. S. Kimber and M. Ginsbourg. The latter plays a variety of shots, using the side walls to good effect and getting his change in pace from boost shots, whereas Kimber's play is straight up and down the side walls with a good drop shot in the front corners to change the pace. The run of play did not see the first four games being close for game point, Kimber winning the first, losing the next two and coming up to take the fourth, none of the first four games going above 9-4. The last game brought out a terrific struggle, with Ginsbourg taking the lead at 8-3. Here Kimber made a grand fight and although insbourg had game point in hand and hand-in to play, on four occasions, he could not score the deciding point and Kimber ran out the winner at 10-8.
