Henry A. Wallace, predicted yesterday that the European war would continue to have a bad effect on farm exports to neutral nations "for some time to come."
He asked the Senate Agriculture and Forestry Committee to restore the US$244,000,000 subsidy which the House of Representatives eliminated from President Roosevelt's 1941 budget estimate. The war demand, he asserted, has "fizzled" and failed to make farm legislation needless.
"The speculative boom has fiat-tened," he declared. The war i. probably doing more harm than good, as far as the general farm situation is concerned.
