Following the previous course of American policy when peace was threatened, the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, in an official statement today reminded European countries that they had pledged their national honour to seek a- peaceful settlement of all disputes and further reminded them of their obligations under the Kellogg-Briand pact.
Mr. Hull did not name Germany or Czechoslovakia specifically but significantly released his statement on the eve of a second series of Czechoslovak elections, just one week after the precipitation of the Czecho-German crisis, indicating that he feels the mid-European situation. is the gravest yet.
Mr. Hull said he had not sent diplomatic representations to Berlin or Prague but indicated he might if the situation becomes any more acute.—United Press,
