Order of 600 Diverted to Use of Britain, France Washington, Mar. 26.
A broad policy has been tentatively agreed upon to divert for sale to Britain and France between 500 and 600 new model planes being constructed for the Army and Navy, it was learned here today.
The decision was reached by a conference of naval and military officials here, including the Secretary of War, Mr, Harry H. Woodring, the Secretary of the Navy, Mr. Charles Edison, the Chief of Air Corps, Major General H. H. Arnold, and the Chief of Staff of the Army, General George C. Marshall.
Meanwhile, the Senate Military Affairs Committee yesterday considered a resolution asking for an inquiry into Allied plane purchases in the United States, charging that they delayed American orders.—United Press.
