Hold-Up Men Operate On No. 1 Line Bus

Victim Relieved of $540; Thugs Escape Displaying a considerable amount of daring, two men, both believed to have been armed, relieved a passenger of a line No. 1 bus of cash, a gold Ting and a diamond ring to the total value of $540 at 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon while the vehicle was proceeding along Bubbling Well Road in the vicinity of the Country Club.

One of the two men indicated that he was carrying a pistol under his gown and that he would fire at the victim unless he banded over all the valuables in his possession.. Ihe victim promptly complied and the hugs left the bus outside the Country Club disappearing in the fraction of a minute and long before the alarm had been raised.

The case is now being investigated by detectives attached to Sinza police station. While similar crimes have been committed frequently West of Bubbling Well police station, yesterday's affair was the first known case to have been committed so far downtown.
