Tokyo, Apr. 17.
Exclusion of the Shanghai market from the yen bloc is now being urged by Japanese financiers in Shanghai, according to information received by the Osaka Prefectural Trade Museum on Monday, as reported by the "Japan Times."
The reason given is that Japanese industrial and business establishments in Shanghai would enjoy a better chance to compete with foreign capital if free from the rigid control to which they are now subjected within the yen bloc.
The following views are expressed nese businessmen in Shanghai:
1—After the expected reopening of the Yangtze competition between Japanese and third country capital will become intense. By cutting Central China off from the yen bloc and placing Japan's trade with it on the Foreign Currency Export Bill basis, the cost of exports to Central China can be markedly reduced.
2—With Central China excluded from the yen bloc, it should be treated as a third country and a regular foreign exchange bill used in trade with the region.—Havas Father Gherzi on
