Mystery Remains Unsolved

London, Feb. 28.

The circumstances in which the Italian acceptance of the British scheme for the withdrawal of volunteers from Spin were communicated, to the Prime Minister on the eve of Mr. Anthony Eden's resignation, were referred to in the House of Commons this afternoon, but they remain somewhat mysterious.

Mr. Arthur Henderson, Labour member for Kingswinford, Staffordshire, asked for assurances that the Government in future would hot undertake aby decisions affecting foreign policy on the basis of unofficial information unless received through the medium or under the responsibility of the Foreign Office.

Mr. Henderson recalled Mr. Eden's statement last week when he announced the acceptance by Italy of the British scheme of the withdrawal of the volunteers had been communicated to Mr. Chamberlain by an unofficial person.
