Formally launching a campaign seeking Y.12,000,000 as relief funds from the Japanese Government, several hundred Japanese residents gathered at the Japanese Club, Boone Road on Thursday night. The money would be distributed in the form of low interest loans with. a. lengthy redemption period.
The gathering, stood styled "The First General Joint Meeting, of Japanese War Sufferers in Shanghai," lasted for three hours. Dissatisfaction with the allotment of only ¥.4,500,000 for Shanghai relief was voiced by the speakers.
