League Leading Reds Beaten

Boston Bees Steal Victory from Favourites But Lose Services of Pitcher; Ball Smashes Nose

New York, June 3.

'ASEY Stengel's Boston Bees s! tole a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, National Leag ne baseball leaders, today but lost the services of their star right-handed pitcher, Jim Turner. Ival Goodman's line drive in the sixth inning smashed Turner squarely in the face, fracturing his nose. Turner will be benched several weeks. In their half of the same inning the Bees scored the tying and winning runs on Catcher Al Lopez' homer with one on base. This blow sent Pitcher Lee Griscon to the showers.

Relief hurlers prevented either side from scoring thereafter.
