The annual members golf competition for the Cup presented to the Club by Mr. A. J. Welch was played off at the Hungjao Golf Club on Wednesday.
Though the weather was all that could be desired, only one or two competitors suitably clad themselves in shorts, whereas one turned cut in the nearest approach to a skiing costume that has been seen on the course.
The competition was won by. Gen. Keith Simmons with a score of 88 less 1=87, whose creditable effort was closely challenged by his opponent D. MacEwen with a net 87%.
Other competitors were playing two ball foursomes and their results are as follows:—
Crow and Hard: ick 88 98 38 99 102 103 107 107 14
Handicaps were drawn for after the conclusion of the match as was a sweep for a "fiver" which (less the cost of a round of drinks and a silver match box to the winner) may prove Some consolation to one of the Club's keenest members who was unfortunately unable to leave his office that afternoon, Jackie Cooper is playing the title role in Paramount's screen version of "Seventeen," radically different than what Author Booth Tarkington ever intended.
