Turner Outstanding

Turner was the outstanding player for the "Y," clearing well, and showing fine interception at times to hold up attacks. Logan did not show up as well as against the French Forces. Gecker was weak in the half back line constantly running round in circles. Oliveria and Cochrane both put in a lot of hard work, but their passes were wasted on the men in front.

The attack lacked a leader, someone Who could have harassed the school defence and the-folly of changing a winning combination was seen as ceded a corner which was cleared io see Davis head in for Schneirson to clear. Lopes then put over a fne cross to see it missed by five players and Schnierson cleared. The School equalized after twenty minutes play when MeCorkindale met a Kidby pass to send the ball past Roberts.

Although thrills in plenty mere provided by both sides in fast raiding movements, the School had the best of the exchanges, and but for the fine defensive work of the "Y" rear line in which Turner was outstanding, with Roberts bringing off several good saves, the School would have taken the lead before the interval, McCorkindale, on one occasion, just lobbing over the bar from thirly yards. Davis was also presented with a fine opportunity io place his side on the lead, but the centre, after stopping the ball, turned round instead of going for-ard, and then put past with only the keeper to beat.

The School were early prominent in the second half although the "Y" were the first to reach their opponents penalty area, Rozario shot past when well placed. The ent into the lead after ten play. Shusterovitz crossed a scrimmage take place in the "Y" goal mouth, and Tingle managed to get his foot to the ball to net before Logan could tackle.
