The Caroline Parsons, the St. Ives motor lifeboat, capsized in a recent gale off the Cornish Coast, while aiding the s. Alba. Her crew had rescued the survivors from the stranded vessel, but when clear of the wreck, the full force of the gale struck, capsizing her. She righted herself, but her engine was out of action and she was driven onto the rocks and badly smashed up. A number of men lost their lives.
